The First Commercial Maglev 3.0 Train Completed Relevant Tests

green and intelligent transportation

Xinhua news agency, Changsha, March 10 (reporter Liu Fangzhou) - the reporter learned from CRRC Zhuzhou Electric Locomotive Co., Ltd. on the 10th that the first commercial maglev 3.0 train with completely independent intellectual property rights developed by the company has completed relevant dynamic tests and system joint commissioning and joint test on the high-speed maglev test line of Tongji University.

With a design speed of 200 kilometers per hour, this commercial maglev train is a new commercial maglev product independently created by Chinese researchers, filling the gap in the global maglev transportation system of this speed level, marking that China has mastered the key core technology of medium speed maglev, and the innovation and industrial development of maglev technology continue to remain in the forefront of the world.

According to Zhang Wenyue, deputy director of the maglev Research Institute of CRRC Zhuzhou Locomotive Co., Ltd., the commercial maglev version 3.0 train has achieved breakthroughs in many technologies such as driverless, non-contact induction power supply, rail holding operation and so on. It is suitable for 50 km to 200 km intercity and municipal lines.

The train is controlled by the ground operation control system, which can realize unmanned driving. Through 5g high-frequency millimeter wave vehicle ground wireless communication, online condition monitoring, big data analysis and other technologies, it can make real-time intelligent diagnosis of vehicle, track, power supply and other faults, so as to ensure the safety and reliability of unmanned driving.

Compared with the commercial maglev version 2.0 and 1.0 trains, the traction motor of the commercial maglev version 3.0 train is "moved" from the bottom of the vehicle body to the ground, breaking through the limitation of the traditional rail transit traction equipment installed on the train, significantly improving the traction efficiency, climbing ability and acceleration performance, and realizing high-density, small marshalling, public transportation and quick start and stop operation.

"At present, China is accelerating the construction of urban metropolitan areas and urban railways. Maglev trains can provide another choice for 'green and intelligent' transportation between cities and cities." Yang Ying, chief scientist of CRRC, said that in the future, commercial maglev 3.0 trains can meet the needs of high-speed operation through technical upgrading such as improving air tightness, further optimizing aerodynamic shape and increasing ground traction power.
