In drilling engineering, a compass is commonly used to find north, and the north it points to is magnetic north. The north finder is based on gyroscope technology and is not affected by changes in the earth's magnetic field, so it can provide accurate true north information even in a strong magnetic field environment. In contrast, a compass may produce large errors under magnetic field interference.

 

We have a MEMS north finder ER-MNS-09B H that can be directly installed in the drilling rig probe! It can also provide users with drilling tool attitude information.

 

Fearless Of High Temperature And Strong Magnetism

**Cylindrical shape**

This is an aluminum alloy cylindrical MEMS north finder, 120mm long and 30mm in diameter, light in weight and good in thermal conductivity. It can be placed directly near the drill bit or in the drill rig probe, and can independently measure the heading, pitch and roll angles of the drill bit, and more accurately understand the attitude and direction of the drill bit.

 

**High-precision north finding**

The north finding accuracy of this north finder can reach 0.5°secψ(1σ), which can provide more accurate north information. This is essential for drilling operations that require precise orientation. The compass may be less accurate due to fluctuations in the external magnetic field.

 

**Adaptable to high temperature and harsh environment**

This is a high temperature version of the north finder, with an operating temperature of 5℃~+125℃. It can resist high impact vibration and ensure stable operation.

The low power design only requires 2W of power, which can ensure stable performance output even in continuous working state.

 

**Self-alignment and attitude tracking function**

It can automatically initialize alignment after startup, and can automatically determine the true north direction after self-alignment, without manual alignment by personnel, and the north-seeking time only takes 5 minutes. It can also track and provide the attitude information of the drilling tool to ensure that the drilling trajectory meets the design requirements.

The north finder is designed to be more suitable for industrial applications such as drilling, and can work stably in harsh industrial environments.
